Did he open the car door for you, they'll ask each other. Did he stand when you walked into the room is another question that they'll ask. While some of these may seem a bit formal to you, having good manners shows a woman that you know how to treat people well. If you know how to treat people well then you'll most likely treat her well.

If you are not polite and thoughtful then guess what they are going to talk about you.
